I really feel in love with this when I saw it in your portfolio.....
I love the contrast of the cold foggy mountains, against the old machine in the forground.....
Nice idea and execution. Perfect juxtaposition of the machine and bare foreground against the pristine background. Speaks volumes. It does seem a little oversharpened, there are halos visible. That's a minor nit. Also a bit of red cast genreally.
It's a nice subject, I have to agree with that.
However, the picture is oversharpened to the point that it is quite distracting.
In addition I think this picture would have been improved a lot if it were in B&W instead of color. As a black and white picture I would probably also say that the contrast should be increased a bit, the dark area below the clouds should especially be made darker, I think and also the blue sky to increase the contrast between the sky and the clouds.
I could have sworn I already commented on this. Just in case. Spectacular contrast of ideas. something very sought after in stock photography. One of my only 10s so far. Great job.
I think you'll get hit by the quality police for this one - sharpening artefacts, and blocky sense of compression. It's a strong image though, which might allow some poorness of quality. I think you could successfully have allowed a bit more space around the main subjects however - never forget how easily the eye is lead out of your frame ...
