 I'd been looking at stock photography sites and noticed the ones with the most downloads were the simplest of shots

So

I took this big key and wanted to shoot it on a white background. Not having a studio I decided on my bathroom.

Hung the key on some black thread in front of the white shower wall and bounced a spotlight of another wall.

Took the shot. Made a duplicate layer and did a "hard light" overlay which completely blew out the off white back wall.

Editied out the obvious black thread and voila a key floating in space

I have no idea how the voters will vote on this challenge, whether having a clean and simple shot which is open to so many different uses will score well or not?

Lets wait and see

Very good isolated product shot with excellent focus throughout. The light is a bit hard and the image seems a little over-sharpened, but it's still an outstanding stock photo - one of the best in this challenge. Nicely done!

It's a popular stock subject choice. Background looks good. Not sure about the floating in mid air but as an isolated subject it works well.
