Today I joined my grandfather in his shooting assignment for the Big Apple tourism agency. We did a part of Brooklyn that most don't see. I can't post some of my other photos that may be used in the brochure for copyright purposes, but here is a shot that we took on our way back into Manhattan crossing the Brooklyn Bridge. This is the last shot I took befor it really began to snow hard and taking shots became difficult.

My grandfather was the one who got me into photography. His whole life he had been an amateur photographer, going from camera club to camera club and occasionally teaching a beginner's course in photography. He had sporadic success in selling prints, all of which he printed in his in-house darkroom and matted/framed by himself. Recently, some of his stuff has been seen by young artists/couples looking to put some artwork on their walls and he has been selling his old prints for over $500 apiece unframed. Finally came around for him, just shy of 80.

Recently, he has embraced digital photography. Being one of film for over fifty years, he had found it hard to sell all of his film stuff and convert fully to digital, but now he has. He is into computer-photography integration and is always sending me over his newest Photoshop creations. :) . Now he currently uses a Minolta A1 (he had always used a Minolta system even from his fully-manual days) and he's going strong working for this non=profit organization. Even though he tends to tell the same stories about photography over and over to me, I still learn a lot from him each time we rendezvois.

This is my grandfather in the shot --- enjoy!
