 I like watching horses for the subtle communication they use with each other when there is nothing to entertain them, ear flicks, posture, ect.
Something about the situation reminded me of images I have seen of prisoners in their cells, hanging out, waiting for...something.

Handheld at 161 mm with the Sigma 50-500. rotated, cropped, de-sat, usm, save for web,usm.

Good photo and a good choice to use black and white. The use of a shallow depth of field helps empasize the sense of separation.
