Taken on the Kuranda Tourist Train. The views in the mountains were just breathtaking and the opportunity to take photos was a highlight of the day. Glad to share.

Greetings from the Critique Club!

At a quick glance, this is a very good landscape photo.

In regards to the Challenge's theme, From Above, I personally question the landscapes photos even the ones shot from a mountain. I personally view them more as perspective shots than "from above" shots. Never the less, this is only my presonal interpretation and it is my understanding that most will consider these shots on par with the challenge's theme.

Technically, this is a very well executed photo. The rule of thirds works very well here. The cropping is well done. The oblique line created at the bottom of the valley works like a charm and is very pleasant to the eye. The colors are vivid in the foreground, but maybe a littlebit too dull in the mountains in the horizon and in the middle of the photo. Perhaps adding more overalls aturation would have added more visual impact to the greens and blue sky. A littlebit more sharpening would have helped as well as it seems that the trees in in general are a bit fuzzy.

The only problem I find with this picture really,IMO, is that it is just plain. It's a nice landscape photo, sure, but I just doesn't seem to reach me. It seems to be missing that extra little detail, or subject, to make it reach out. This is, again, only my interpretation.

Good work. Keep it up. My personal rating: 5

Nice, rich greens! (I only wish it looked like that around here during this time of year!)

Very nice landscape! At first I thought this might be in West Virginia, but I was there a couple weeks ago and there weren't that many leaves on the trees.
