Camera: Sony DSC-F717
Location: Astoria Bridge

Date Uploaded: Feb 15, 2005

Woke at 6:30am (really early for me) to shoot the sunrise at 7:30. I was dropped off by my mom (thanks for driving ) under the bridge, and she promptly went to napping and I promptly went to shooting. I found that I could climb along the slippery rock shore, past a fence to get the angle I wanted. I just shot away with a varaity of different angles, lighting, and ideas.

Editing: b&c, color balance, hue/sat, neatimage, soft focus, image size, minor color/sat/b&c changes.

:: Hello from the Critique Club ::
............................................................

Love the angle here and the water looks just soft enough to be sexy.

Your bridge is interesting and the wooden supports add an unusual element of intrigue. Lighting is cool and mellow, but lacks enough punch to give the shot that wow-factor. Composition is competent and shows enough of the bridge to inform the viewer of its style & materials, although that main support would look more potent off-centre to the right creating a more dynamic line through the shot.

Well done.

Cheers
Jon

Great shot. I love the colors. Best I've seen so far. It's a 10 from me.

Really nice colours, tones and spatial balance. POV choice adds sense of height to the bridge. I think the composition would be stronger if the support structure were moved off centre, as your horizon line is.

Great shot. I love the water because it looks so real and deep. The colors are pretty and perfect with the bridge silhouetted against the purples. Were you in a boat when you took this shot? Nice.

I love the colors! Was this from a dock in Astoria or a boat? That's near, what, the Holiday Inn?

Very nice shot - the contracts between the sky, bridge and water are well done.

Beautiful and moody, the forest of pilings is eerie. A bit toomuch NeatImage for my taste on this one, or whatever smoother was used. But a strong entry.

nice colors on the sky...however, more bridge would of made this photo better.
