Don't get me wrong 12th place is good, but I can't belive you didn't rank higher! The style of this shot just reminded me of some of the great photographers from the 60's, like Barry Lategan and David Bailey.

Thanks for all the great comments! I am delighted with 12th, particularly considering the many pictures that I thought were far superior to my attempt.

You look like Billy Joel in this picture.

Hey.. we placed pretty close together! I didn't realise there was another one of us s7000'ers out there. Nice shot, it has a very, "campy" feel to it.. Like an old Dr. Who episode or something.

I truly did enjoy this photo. I is subtle, basic and yet is very alluring. I almost expect Sherlock Holmes to come strolling down some dark and foggy lane, looking for clues.

This is one of my favorites and I gave it a 9... Keep up the good work, and good luck to you in the challenge.

One of the best I've seen so far...I really like this. Maybe just a tad more fill to take care of the shadow over the eyes, cause by the brim of the hat.

i don't know anything about portraiture, so i'm using your image to try to figure out what i think i would or wouldn't do in this situation, as well as what i notice and get out of your image.

excellent work here. everything--lighting, focus, composition, expression--comes together to make a most enjoyable image. i do believe you have captured the essence of the individual! i hope this does well for you!

Cool lighting, I like everything about this shot except maybe and just maybe I would have left a little more negative space around you, especially at the top but again, I like everything about this shot as it is, keep up the good work.

While the whole concept of the photo is great...the hat, suit, etc, what gives it that little extra is the hunched shoulder pose. Very well done

Marvellously done - evocative, contradictory, and very arresting. That sharpening halo around the high-contrast edges is REALLY annoying, for me at least - one of my major bugbears. The quality of this otherwise is enough to overcome it though. Just.

LOve the hat. Would have liked to see a bit more light on the eyes, but overall very nice. Odd pose, but works with the pinstripes and hat somehow. Unique.

excellent portrait. the suit, hat and beard all look great on you. I wish your eyes weren't in so much shadow, but this is a very interesting and textured shot.

Now, here is a classic and an image that pleases because it brings a feeling from a nostalgic past. The inner expression on the lower zones remain very elastic to create a well distributed tone image. Again, the effect here is quite impressive and you have my admiration. Bumping up

Great portrait, love the hat & the pose. It's a very clean, professional image with a touch of self-mockery about it that adds to its appeal. 7.
