So... I have to know, were you shooting for James Cagney?

Something uncomfortable about the lighting. None the less, I like the photo.

The desaturated feel really works for this - lighting is great and the definition is excellent. Nice work.

Did anyone ever tell you you look a little bit like Ewan McGregor?
Great portrait and good lighting.
i wish your lips had been a bit darker though. You look a bit ill...
Nice work!

I like the muted tones of the shot and the lighting is quite interesting, especially the part coming from the back. Bumped up for the freckles!! :-p

nice hat. I came back to this one and I ahve decided to increase my vote. It is the right color for the time period and works well as a self portrait.

this is a great shot, except for the gray t-shit you're wearing. aomthing with a collar would be much more fitting with the 20's looking hat

A young James Cagney. Like the skin tones and shadows, particularly as they cross your intense eyes. Good luck on this dynamic self portrait.

I can't help it - after three days I still think this looks like Leonardo Dicaprio. Great gangster pose, excellent color, fantastic facial expression. Shadow of the hat on the face works here. Composition is excellent. (10)

Man, if you has a suit on and lightened your eyes, you would have nailed that 1950s romance film look.

Returning for comment:
Without doubt this image lives up to and exceeds its tiltle. Great lighting and good focus. The coloration adds to the overall strength. An outstanding effort. Bumping up.

You dirty rat, you look much like Jame Cagney (were you going for that?). The question is, who are YOU? Good portrait, nice composition, back-lighting could have been a touch softer. Great job.

This pic had sooooo much potential.... Could have been a 10 with a suit or at least a collar. I bet you could have ribboned on this.

Nice lighting, and great use of shadows to create a mood. I'd almost like to see your head tilted a bit to the side, or perhaps down rather then straight on... Just a thought.
