I love the detail you captured in this image. Really nice work! The background is good, and helps the subject to pop out. Photographing the frost on red buds was a good choice, since it adds just the right amount of color to bring it to life.
This doesn't typify a "From above" image, since it appears to be from the side. It could be, but doesn't give that impression. In the challenges it is important to adhere closely to the description of the challenge.
Anyway, it's really a nice picture and I'd be proud to have done it. Good work!

Regards,

Grayce

Great macro shot! I'm not sure the photo is quite 'from above' eventhough you had the camera above it

A tighter crop and sharper focus would greatly improve this shot. It is hard to tell is this is from above or the side - a point a reference is needed.

Truly amazing...Nice macro shot, great depth of field. I like the definition on the crystals.. You get a ten here.

WOW, what can I saw, I really like it. It is my kind of image. Great focus and DOF. Others will likely critize the same qualities, but it works for me. Congratulations. 9 Morgan

This picture is so amazing it is troubling. What a close-up. Unfortunately, it seems misplaced in the "from above" challenge.

Whilst this is a fabulous photo, in the context of the challenge it loses out a little for me in not clearly being 'from above': perhaps a little more detail in the background would have helped that - I'm not suggesting sharp focus, but perhaps a little more.

very nice macro shot and the shallow depth of field works nicely... the image doesn't seem to relay a sense of 'from above' to me though... - setzler

Beautifully captured and love the DOF throwing out the background.
I personally find that although I am happy to believe it's taken from above, visually it could just as easily be taken from the side - the image itself doesn't show the challenge has been met, even though I am sure it has.
For me the image has to show it too.

Would be at least an 8 if I felt it met challenge better.

Almost too much depth of field. I like how the detail of the fragile ice structures is apparent.

Focus could be a little sharper but good work on capturing the ice crystals. Nice use of diffuse light.
