I always think the tongue ring looks terribly painful and really exemplifies this topic of pain. Combine this with more pain and it defines the word, at least I think. The problem is transferring it to the photographic medium. As always, if I improve, I am satisfied.

Man, that is scary! Not sure if hammer motion was meant to be shown in this pic. It just looks out of focus rather than moving.

Very interesting choice of lighting. Did you spend time setting it up or was that good luck? Nice composure too. A little hot on the high cheek. I have a feeling this image wont get the score it deserves because people will just see it as gross. Photographicaly spectacular too though!

Good DOF, but the hammer's shaky. The tongue should rest on some iron surface, like blacksmiths used to have. 6.
