Taken with Nikon 50mm f/1.8. Used feathers from cat toy on white paper with overhead lamp. In PS- cloned background to preserve uniform white coloration, cloned out one very small highlight on orange feather, USM, cropped, added border.

I still think this is an absolutely stunning shot and should have scored way higher. I am sorry that your interpretation of "light" was seen negatively by so many (that anyone would actually believe that light, as in weight, is spelled "lite" is beyond me!)....I believe it is completely valid and this shot is spectacularly artful. Has also encouraged me to get the 50mm 1.8 that I have been contemplating for a long time!
Excellent high key exposure. Simplicity can be very effective as you have shown here. My only recommendation would be to soften the edges of the shadows which were more sharply demarcated after your post processing, and perhaps to remove the border, or have a thin solid black one. Very well done overall. 7
