 Pre dawn capture of the street lights shinning through the trees onto the sand and water.
EDIT: Taken at 4:20am if you look close just above the horizon on the far left you can see the colour of the dawn just sneeking onto the clouds.
Note: This was actually my test shot :)

Thanks everyone for your great comments, I do appreciate them.

I think the lights are a special colour that does not interfear with the baby sea turtles when they hatch. They hatch on a moonlight night and use the moon to find the water, if the lights are to bright they find the road instead.

I'm very proud of this photo and the series.

The lighting here is so completely bizarre. Was this really taken at midnight? I'm prepared to believe it, but I can't make any sense of the light on the beach. I'm sure this will make the top 20 (at least as sure as can be) and I think it *should* make the top 10- but who knows. This is a great picture, but it may be too subtle for some voters. Who knows.
