 Every morning, I drive Genevieve to the subway station, and every morning I'm taken aback by the view of the CN Tower from where we are. This particular morning, it was very cold and the sun was shining through the clouds to show the low hanging humidity of Lake Ontario as a backdrop. I had to go back home to get the camera and take the photo.

Adjusted exposure in Nikon Capture. Cropped to center the tower. Used colour mixer and desaturation adjustment layer in Photoshop to bring out detail of clouds. Added a white border.

Thanks for the nice comments and critiques. Yes, the sky was blown out, and I do have it in colour. I might add the colour version to my portfolio at a later date. Initially, it was meant to be a panoramic crop.

A simply wonderful image. I can see why you chose this as your best of the year. I even think the blown out sky has its place here. 10. The majority might not agree but this is one of my favourites so far.

Interesting image, but I would have added a thin black line around the actual image area or chose a completely different border due to the brightly lit sky bleeding into the white border.
