Tall old Maple in my parents' back yard. This tree just hangs in there. The lines of the tree are fascinating, and I love the way it reaches for the sky.

I'm guessing this is the shot I am reading about in the foum. Hmmm, I really don't like the effect (even it were legal). Jak

You messed up your crisp photograph with the strange filter/border.

This is wonderful, but I think I'd like it even more without the border- it just doesn't need it- just my opinion. :)

A beautiful capture. I love how you have captured the trunk of the tree with its branches reaching towards the sky. This certainly is a work of art and should be hung in a photo gallery for everyone to see. I really like the boarder you used as well. The boarder gives it a beautiful soft feel to the overall image. Excellent photo and GL.

i don't see any leading lines . . . where am i being brought into the subject of the photo by a line?

and the strange effect from the borders also detracts materially from the quality of the photo - if the tree is the subject of the photo, why the strange fade on the edges? how does that add to the quality of the photo?

I really like this photo, but once again, I think the borders detract. They draw too much of the focus away from the main subject and detract from the leading lines. Just my opinion tho!

Very beautiful. The border really does this justice. Well done!

Very attractive shot! Great perspective shot. Good detail along the bottom half that darkens into the sky. Kind of ominous and dark.

Love the dreamy effect of the border encompassing the giant.

this is a great shot! the lines are very nice and bold ... and the border does add some age to the image ... great job

Very nice shot! The light and dark contrasts and the sharpness of the photo surounded by the soft feathering really caught my eye! I would love to have this print on my wall!:)

I guess this is the photo mentioned in the forum. I hope it stays in because I like it a lot. Only thing that distracts me a little are those lines in the top right hand corner, was that caused by bordering? Otherwise good, the crop is very fitting.

Well first... This is a great picture! But it looks like you used illegal filters to get it. I'll give an 8 for now.

This is pretty. I would really like to know how you got the shading border.

Nice shot; how did you get the border fade legally?? I love shots of trees, and the black and white is great, as is the composition. Very nice.

this is a good photo about lines, but the lines don't really lead to anything or support the subject or point of interest... the lines are the point of interest instead... - setzler

I would like to see more of a focal point in this photo, and the lines in the upper left corner are a bit confusing. This is an interesting shot, though.
