(we meet again -- I just did your "egg" entry, I believe")

COMPOSITION
Unlike some others, I didn't think the leading lines had to lead to any one subject, per se, but they did need to lead the eyes through the picture. Having said that, I do think you met the challenge well, as there are explicit and implicit leading lines here. The obvious ones are the rails and the concrete between the rails and roadway. The less obvious ones are the water adn the shore on the other side. I think the houses and stuff detract from the overall effectiveness of the the lines though. Perhaps if you had framed it a little more to the right, with more of the road showing, then cropped it so that the water, rails, concrete thing and road all met a point in the upper right with none of the other shore showing, it would have had more punch to it.

TECHNIQUE
The focus is good, and the exposure works well. The colors have a nice hue to them, and nothing seems blown out, etc. Good work.

OVERALL EFFECT
Again, the lines do serve to move the eyes through the picture. As stated earlier, I think framing it a little more to the right would have given the eyes somewhere to rest before they were "led" out of the frame.

Best wishes in future challenges.

Great, strong leading line, but.... it keeps leading my eye over to the right side of the frame, and there's nothing really interesting over there. More interesting is the blue building on the other bank.

little tighter aperture may have given a bit more saturation in the background and sky (maybe even a polarizer). Interesting waves created out in the middle of the water.

The lines do not take me anywhere.

this is a case of a leading line leading you straight out of the picture. a small pivot to the right would frame the image so one is lead to the bridge (another line) that would bring you back into the picture.

I see lines, one thing I might liked to have seen is more of a focal point. The sky really looks nice here. Good luck.

Lines don\'t lead anywhere... The bridge isn't a strong enough subject to make this interesting I think. Still a nice pic however.

Overall it's a nice, sharp image, but something bothers me a little about it. After looking at it for a bit, I guess the thing that's troubling me is that there's no clear subject here. Is the subject the railing, the river, the bridge or the buildings? My interpretation of the challenge is that the lines should lead the eyes through the image, but in this case it seems like there's not a specific place for the eye to come to a rest...? Does this make any sense? :)

Pretty shot and the right idea.
Personally I think there is so much going on here it's hard for eye to land in one spot.
Great colors.

The fence is a great perspective, but since I don't see a subject it isn't leading lines. Maybe put someone standing at the end of the fence.

the line of the fence in this shot doesn't lead the viewer to a subject or point of interest in the photo... - setzler
