Photograph Information Photographer's Comments
Challenge: Candid II (Advanced Editing III)
Camera: Nikon D70
Location: Brazoria state park
Date: Dec 29, 2004
Aperture: F/5
ISO: 800
Shutter: 1/200
Galleries: Family
Date Uploaded: Dec 31, 2004

This photo is of my mom and my son at a local state park. The original was stongly backlit and was quite flat do to lense flare. I struggled with getting the contrast the way I wanted but ran out of time and submitted anyway.

Congrats on your top 5 finish!
I will say again (with better spelling too) that precious moments in life are far more important than "pretty pictures".
This is a nicely captured time capsule and should be cherished.
Nicely done!

Tender and sweet. Excellent contrasts almost in the whole image. The boy's left eye and cheek looks a bit too white.

I just love this. It's tight - it's literally "in your face." The contrast is great and it captured a once in a lifetime moment. SUPERB!

Blocky tonalities and blown out highlights hurt this very appealing candid.
