The mirror was originally intended to reflect the vapor from a teapot in the other version:



And as much as I admire still lifes by some of the DPC masters, I really struggle with them myself, so the dry ice was my attempt to “cheat” my way into something magical. :-)

I’m not sure I like the mirrored image, actually the more I look at it the more I feel you don’t need it, I do love all the steam.

Don't know what to do with this one. It's wonderful, but the mirror is distracting. It would have been better with the mirror a little lower, so it felt more a part of the piece? Or without the mirror? My immediate thought was an 8, but the mirror disturbs me. But does it disturb me enough to bring it to a 7? Is it an 8 because it is kinda interesting? Would it be a 9 with the mirror in a better place?

Deciding between 7 & 8, have to figure it out later.

I'll be honest, I'm not sure it needed the mirror, but maybe I'm wrong. IMO the cup with just the cold steam (dry ice maybe) would make a really good image.
