I had another image in for practically the whole week. Then, the day before voting opened, the sun peeked through the dining room blinds, then Coco wandered into position, and I thought, "Why not? This might just make a funky photo."
Then came the voting...
The first vote was a 10! It sat there looking very impressive for a couple of hours.
Then the second vote arrived... and reality tapped me on the shoulder.

My top pick this challenge. I think you made the right call--but I'd love to see what was competing with this one in the first place. It's hard to imagine a better, more artful use of shadows to dramatic effect.
