Last night, I wondered why I was being asked to send the original file for this photo. I thought voting was still ongoing, and honestly, given its current score, I did not expect it to do that well, so I was confused. Then I opened my Mac, checked the website, and saw that it had won a blue ribbon as a co-winner. In a way, that felt true to its title, Defiant Bloom.. something quiet, unexpected, and a small triumph.
Congratulations to everyone as well. And thanks for all the comments.  Barroness, indeed, what an unusual find. Getting back into photography has made me more aware of my surroundings and has trained my artistic eye to notice the wonder in ordinary things. Btw, a colleague told me it might be bird droppings with a seed, somehow thriving in the air even without soil. |
