 This is a unique beach house (colloquially called "Mushroom House") that sits right on the La Jolla beach under a huge steep cliff. There used to be a tramway that shuttled owners from the big house on top of the cliff down to this one. Unfortunately, the current owner wasn't interested in using the beach house, so for many years it stayed closed and slowly decayed. In 2020 part of the cliff collapsed and damaged the tramway. But at least the house was fenced off and gated. In recent months, however, something happened, the gate was broken, and the house got ransacked and covered by graffiti. Very sad, really.

Bravo! Spiral staircases are always a hit and you've managed to find one that is the opposite of elegant and fancy. My pick for the blue! ...not done voting, so I may have to come back and retract. Fingers crossed for ya. ;-)
