With John's post about Photographer's Comments I thought I will write something here.
I have always been a fan of David Niven, he was a very charming guy. I read his autobiography The Moon is a Balloon, I loved it.
Since we moved to Switzerland 8 years ago I discovered that he died in Chateau d'Oex which is not far from where we live. I found his grave location and on our bike ride in the area we visited his grave. I was shocked how modest it was.

Recently we decided to do a hike in the area and I got interested in finding out where he lived and died. I searched with ChatGPT and it gave me many wrong answers so I decided to look at the map and found Chemin David Niven, and later that he lived at number 10.
We did a detour to see his chalet. We were very disappointed to find out that it was owned by a real estate company. I guess waiting to make a lot of money, I hope they don’t.
On the way back we crossed the railway station. There we found the murals of the most famous inhabitants of Chataeu d’Oex, apart from David Niven there was a mural of Brian Jones of Rolling Stones.
My postcard consists of 5 images, apart from the mural at the station, I took photos of the chalet, the street name, the village from high above, and the two famous mountains. As I don’t have access to Photoshop anymore, I took a 7 day trial to do this.
