Rankles, they appear to be looking out through a screen of some sort, maybe on jalousied windows? I'm not sure, but it's something. A screen would account for the diffusion effect, I think.

I'm stunned this didn't finish in the mid-7's at least. I thought it was poignant and imaginative and immensely appealing. Congrats, regardless, on your 16th place.

I really like your photograph. It gives me something to think about [what are they looking at]. Your perspective is unique and I believe adds to the photograph. Good use of DOF and nice colors. Great Shot!

Wonderful photo!!
The blue flowers between the man and the dog are a little bit distructing. But over all a powerful photo that answers the challenge perfectly!

Looks like you;ve broken the editing rules and used phoitoshop to blur out everything but the subject. Natural blurring doesn't occur like that surely, but until then, good shot. May have worked better in black and white, the colours are a bit distracting. Also the bits of trees coming in should be cropped out.

One is drawn to this photo for its alternative POV and the delicacy of the lighting especially. It's a pity the flowers intrude between the two heads, and the "fronds" upper left are a tad distracting.
