Despair; as in this man's Abandoned Hope. I hope this photo will not be viewed as exploitation, but rather a means to instill awareness to the viewer of the sometimes simple needs of those around us.
The Message here is one of hope in giving:
One Man's Trash is Another Man's Treasure.

This was taken as a Black/White. I increased the contrast and added a sepia tone to give it a dash of color. I'm disappointed at the 640 size limitation I needed to work with on this shot. I think this is a powerful image but the details were getting lost once I reduce it down to meet the 640 rule. I ended up having to crop out a fair amount of the picture to keep the main subject visible. It loses a lot of interest for me at this small size.

You have captured the despair of the homeless in this country.

Your choice of sepia and content is outstanding. You are deserving of your placing.

You captured a moment that silences those who say the homeless choose that as their personal lifestyle. This image says it best. You are to be commended.

Dispair well portrayed. Very emotive picture. Good contrast. Background works, but adds a little too much clutter. 9 Swash

I think that this is a very powerful photograph. The image it conveys is powerfully presented. The composition is great as a lot of the elements have been placed on the thirds. The railings behind the man add to the despair of the tramp as it makes him look like he is behind bars. I think it was a right choice to use black and white, colour would have been inappropriate. In short, I liked it.

i think by by shoting this picture probably didnt do much for this person. I think that you should have found something else insted of showing how misseriable someones life is.

Now this guy REALLY looks desparate. The black and white helps enhance his desparation.

Great work! You certainly captured a powerful expression here. I may have liked it a little tighter, to capture his face a little closer up... but still an awesome shot.
