 I knew the hummers were due back in the area any day now after a long winter in Central America. I was in the yard with my camera looking for birds for the "Birds in Flight" challenge and this male hummer showed up at the feeder. It's the first time I have been able to photograph the first one to appear. Welcome home!

Stunning! absolutely stunning! I put my feeders out weeks ago, I only saw one little tiny hummingbird. They are so sweet and you caught this beautifully. Congratulations

just gorgeous .. seeing that beautiful little bird in amongst the bokeh .
i dont know why . but i felt protective towards it ..
its a stunning image ... :)

Nice shot. Very sharp with good focus on the eye. Wing location can be tough with the ideal pose with the wings up and not across the body, but tough to get any shots with these fast little birds.

Beautiful capture! Love the detail and bokeh. I was hoping to get a Hummer for this challenge, but the lone female who visits my yard was not cooperative.
