I actually had a 4th saw also, but it didn't fit well in the image. :-) So, how does one end up with 4 chainsaws (if you're not a wood sculptor)? Well, you buy one because you need it. Then it gets finicky on you and doesn't run as well as you'd like, so buy a 2nd as a backup. The "backup" is so awesome you want another one for "just in case". That's how I ended up with 3 (the black one - Sears Craftsman - is still finicky and probably should find a new home). The original "backup" is an Echo 20" basic saw that is super reliable, always starts, easy to handle, etc. Bought a 2nd Echo - same 20" model. Swapping out chains, air filters, etc. is so much easier with two of the same. THEN, we had some big boys come down (trees I mean) and the 20" wouldn't cut all the way thru. Obviously, I needed a bigger saw! Plus, I wanted to do some saw-milling and cut some nice oak wood planks - needed more horsepower to run the Alaskan Sawmill. :-) See, it all makes sense. LOL
Actually, on a serious note; we do have a ton of trees in our neck of the woods, and I'm always cutting something. All 3 of the good saws are always topped off with fuel and have a sharp chain on them. I've put one in the back of my vehicle numerous times during sketchy weather. |
