This is my first challenge entry with the Rebel. I used the kit lens; settings were f5.6 and 1/800. Shot was cropped slightly, some small distracting pieces of litter/pylons were cloned out, slight contrast adjustment, converted to greyscale, boosted contrast 10 pts, burned/vignetted around the edges, and finally, resized for web.

A most attractive b/w study with such a good eye guide as this fallen or cut tree. The rones are very silvery and a pleasure to look at. 7
Technical details: excellent tonal range, focus, sharpness, and DOF. I like the low key appearance which adds to the mood of the photograph. Very tasteful and artistic presentation overall.
