Thanks for all the generous votes! This was one of the most interesting landscapes I've photographed. My KP index app alerted me to the chance of seeing Northern Lights, so I headed outside to see if I could find them. They are just slightly visible in the lower right side of the horizon. The fire was fairly new at this point and so the stars were still visible, before the smoke later moved in heavily and covered the sky.

Directly presented huge fire, as is more and more wont to occur. Thank you .... well, I'll forego the bitterness. There's a certain grandeur here, nevertheless, in addition to the heartbreak. What's really fascinating to me is how the orange glow comingles with the night sky. The deep field leading to the line of trees is a strong participant in the interesting composition. Fine testimony.
