It{s a Roseate Spoonbill, or commonly known as just a spoonbill. At one time they were almost extinct as people used their feathers decoratively.

incredible photo .. for any challenge .. but amazing for this one ..
everything about this is perfect .. especially the shallow dof .. and then there's the bird .
it looks like its posing just for you ..
crazy juxtaposition .. the bird and the car ..
a one in a million shot ..
congratulations on the ribbon ... :)

I wished I had bumped this to 10 ( from my original9)
Wonderful picture of this comedian! Made me laugh out loud even before getting the appreciation for the technicals.

Perfect control of depth of field, the full front of the spoonbill, and the perch. Absolutely lovely bokeh. The bird's smack center position works well, buoyed by the sides' softness and measured interest. So, a daring composition. Pretty and cheery.
Personal favorite of the challenge.

I love this! Do I wish the car wasn’t there? A little bit, but it is still very awesome! I see a ribbon in your future!!

Top pick for me. Actually using the shallow DOF of the challenge to add something to the photo and the composition as opposed to just ticking the challenge box. Well done!

My favorite of the challenge. I like the pop of colour from the bird and how it contrasts with the rest of the scene. Well done! 9
