Taken at Sensorio in Paso Robles, on a recent trip with friends. I'd heard of it and had always wanted to go, but the opportunity never presented itself. Until now. This was our gift to our fellow traveler, whose birthday it was they day we went.
The evening actually started late in the afternoon, before the solar-powered bulbs lit up, and it was just a huge field of rolling hills, covered with 58,800 white spheres on swaying stems. If you ever go, do start early and watch the transformation as it gets dark.
It is an utterly magical place, created from an open, flat field. They installed rolling slopes and meandering, lit paths, with seating areas everywhere to just sit and contemplate the light show. It is very, very reminiscent of Oz.
I chose this processing because it made the globes look more like bulbs. The actual colors are blues and pinks and greens and purples. I hope I chose well.
Well, quite the birthday present indeed. Thank you all for the wonderful scores.
