 The beauty of this desert land captivates me as my thoughts stretch towards the Canyon and I follow the road to elsewhere. Desert View Drive or Highway 64 stretches out over the Arizona desert and takes you to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Along the way there is much beauty to be found on this stretch of road before you even enter the Grand Canyon National Park.

this is an amazing capture ..
part of the reason why i find it so .. is the almost optical illusion that those far hills are in front of the nearer ones .. cant explain it any better than that .. they just look closer than they are ..
i'm loving the impact of the road in the scene going off into the distance ..

I like the contrast of the rural desert-like environment with the dark contrast of the man made road. As an aside, what an impressively smooth road it is!
