 This is the house behind my house.

A couple of years ago, my friend called. "Do you smell smoke?"

"Nope, I don't smell anything" (the wind was in the other direction, so she had a strong smell of smoke and we had nothing.

I looked out my back window and saw flashes of red through the trees. As my mind was processing what I was seeing, we heard the sirens.

Even though I really wanted to get my camera and take photos, I stuck with my cell phone. Even though all of us who were outside were taking cell phone photos, actually getting a real camera seemed really heartless.

The family had just left home about 10 minutes before, they actually came rushing back up the road because the son had forgotten something.

One of the neighbors had kicked in the door and gotten the two dogs out.

The fire department said that it was wiring that had gone bad, and that there was no way of knowing it.
