Scott as in Walter Scott, the writer of 'Waverley' and 'Heart of Midlothian' among others. Just got into the Centre of town to catch the last light of the day. The ferris wheel is part of Edinburgh's Christmas display and the German market, the funfair and the ice rink are just below in Princes St. Gardens.
Changed hue/saturation, USM, curves, brightness contrast. Duplicated layer and applied optic verve radiany filter which looks like neat image and soft focus combined. Blended with background at around 40%.

The lights on the top of the tower seem like glowing eyes on a Thai/Cambodian Buddha, who is wearing a pointed hat.His mouth is also slightly glowing. I LIKE the photo - great sunset colors, nice silhouettes... but the top of it got my imagination in gear.
Great colors the sky and the lights are beautiful. The horizan seems to slop to the left. Just rotate right a few degrees and this will be a great shot to print and frame. Nice shot.
Composition: 9, Nice placement of the church.
Technical: 7, Seems to be a little canted to the left.
Appeal: 9, nice contrast between sky and subject.
Challenge: 10, .
Overall Calculated Average Score: 9, Beautiful job
This is an excellent subject for this challenge and I really like the bright colors. The only thing you might want to consider is finding an angle that highlights the monument without the ferris wheel right behind it because it seems to detract from the main subject. But regardless, this is an excellent photo. Very nice job.
I like the attempt but I guess there isn't too much overall appeal in the image as a whole. Nothing seems to much stand out and nothing is vibrant enough to really go wow.
The beautiful "painted" sky really adds to this image.
Hope you weren`t sitting on the roof of Waverley station to get this shot??
Long lens from the bridges?
A bonus point for pointing the camera towards Falkirk :)
