 From the same series as my legs challenge entry, even though that one did not do very well.

Camera on a tripod, exposure 30 seconds, running back and forth on the beach, fire the handheld flash downwards at the feet at each step.

Post processing:
* exposure and white balance adjustment
* cloning out some blown out highlights and visible parts of flash unit
* cloning out some red spots due to flash ready led
* crop, resize, sharpen, save for web

Note: it is just one single image, no composition of multiple images. But you are right, spacing out the feet was a challenge. Also to make all these steps within 30 seconds was a challenge. I made 15 takes in total, after some initial shots to get the framing and exposure right. I did put two shoes at the opposite angles of the triangle from the camera, so I knew the borders of the frame.
