 was pretty excited when i saw this beetle in the grass and my first thought was the 'from above challenge' which started voting in two days ... i stood above him and took a few photos .. he was looking up at me and didnt even move .. which is unusual with the insects i photograph ..
i tried to find out what the beetle was but have been unsuccessful .. if anyone knows i'd love to hear .. :)

well .. this photo is totally bombing out and i'm thinking ppl dont think its taken from above ...
i did hesitate to enter it as i felt ppl who only gave it a cursory look may not think it was taken from above .. which is a huge assumption .. just take the blade of grass for example .. they dont usually hang sideways .. its pointing up ..

but i feel the droplet hanging off the blade of grass shows quite clearly that this was taken from above .. if it wasnt the droplet would hang differently ..

in fact i wouldnt have entered it if the droplet wasnt there .. because there would have been no frame of reference ..

of course i was there taking the shot .. and i was standing over that little beetle .. looking down .. so its easy for me to know what was going on ..

this is more what the droplet would have looked like if i was taking the shot front on and not from above ..

This is an image for National Geographic, Roz. Maybe try to enter it in some nature contests? Absolutely amazing! And he is looking up on you!!! Shame on the voters!! So short-sighted and so focused on finding a reason for low voting on such an outstanding image.

PS I didn't vote on this challenge and many recent challenges so this is my first reaction.
