ETA: Here's the link to the DQ thread.

I did nothing illegal. I cloned out the buttons and used the liquify tool on the top surface. All tools are legal in Standard editing ruleset and "it's up to the voters to determine if you've gone too far" said Site Council before they DQ'd my image for doing just that.

Disqualification Details
The context of this image has been absolutely obliterated in post-processing: effectively you have cut out the interesting elements and pasted them on a new BG. That this was done by modifying the BG around the retained elements into something it never was doesn't change anything conceptually.
