So how cool is this shot? Enought o get a 10 from me!! I love the lighting on this! I'd be interested to find out what your lighting setup was like. The brighter yellow circle of light around the center of the flower is great! THe lower part of that brighter yellow is a little bit blown out, but not enough to complain about. Cropping on the yellow flower is perfect, too. I really like the composition created with that crop. For the most part, your background provides added interest without being a distraction. I like that the background is not all solid black. With that said, I do think the small amount of background 'leafs' that are overlapping the yellow petals is distracting. I would have moved those behind the flower. Better yet, I would have trimmed them out of the picture. The lighting on the background elements works very well, but these leaves in particular have the same lighting as the yellow flower. They are not part of the flower, but the lighting on them is too strong for them to match with the background elements. OK... I feel like I am rambling! Even though I found something I would have changed in this image, I am still giving it a 10 because it has enough WOW factor to overcome the small flaws! Nice work!

Despite the seemingly soft focus this is one of my two favourites for this week. The color is so powerful, the composition of the front subject works out great and the background provides good balance subjectwise and great contrast lightwise.
Perhaps the soft focus look is what makes this image have such a big impact on me. I just love it. 10. |

| You really caught good light with this photo. The flower seems almost glowing, especially that ring just outside the stamens. I really enjoyed how you filled the background at the top instead of leaving a void. The flower, though stunning, isn't enough for me, and the background still leaves things to be explored. |

| WOW! This yellow flower is amazing! I'd say this is one of the best i've seen... it's beautiful! The background is also great. It was a real good idea to have added some substance to the background with the other flowers, other than a plain background. Nicely done. |

| Good macro shot and Great composition. However, according to the challenge, I eager to to see more yellow in the shot. In my eyes, orange dominates the frame. |

| Very nice... The yellow highlights in the center and around the leaves are great! The other flowers in the back are distracting however, too bad you could blur them or remove them first. 8. |

| I like the colors here. I don't like the top of the photo, but doesnt distract it that much because the flower is so beautiful. Good luck. |

| I love the sunburst effect in this flower. Your composition is very good - I like the inclusion of other flowers in the background. The petals create interest by having such a range of colour - going from bright yellow to almost black at some points. Well done for a very good submission. |
