Interestingly enough, without the hands to define it as a watch, the technology of the subject becomes almost non-existant to me. It now seems nothing more than a medal of honor, a trophy of some sort. The blue above, only adding to that feeling. I like the angle chosen to shoot from and chosen for teh subject itself, the DOF is great and keeps the whole in focus and the lighting allows it to gently melt into the background. Overall a pleasant image, but distracting in the color above and lacking somehow in the tech arena but only because of the missing hands. Desat the blue above tho and this image seems to me to be a winner for an abstract wallhanging. |

Nicely lit, and great subject! Contrast seems a bit off though. |

Elegant in composition, line, clarity, simplicity, understated use of light and shadow, and stunning use of color. This looks like a glossy, upscale ad. Flawless piece. |

Rest assured, this pocket watch as old as it may be is too sophisticated to be labeled low-tech. However, it is well photographed. Bumping to 7 |
