I took the pictures of the apes at the Washington Zoo. They have an outdoor exhibit which extends from one side of a pedestrian pathway to the other side. The two sides are connected by ropes which allow the apes to swing from one side to the other. It’s an open environment and I guess the apes could jump down onto the pathway and escape but they don’t!
I don’t know if you see the deer in the background of the picture. I have many in my neighborhood. I love to take pictures of them. It may not be realistic but I wanted one in this composition. The stream and woods are also not far from my home.
