 Beached boat at Corpach, near Fort William in Scotland. The higher hill behind the left of boat is brooding Ben Nevis - the highest mountain in the UK. The boat broke from its moorings in Dec 2011 and hasn't floated since. Surrounded by barbed wire and warning notices now. Lots of great textures and patterns. Standby - you might see more of her in the future!

Hi Ellie, nice pic of the Corpach shipwreck. I lived in FW for 5 years so I know this place well. One thing in your little story isn̢۪t right though. It wasn̢۪t 1972 that it broke loose, but 2010 or 2011 after a heavy storm. It happened while we were living near Corpach. One day there was only the beach, next day it was there. It was moored on the opposite site of Loch Linnhe and was supposed to be restored, but clearly that has never happened.

so far the second best one i've seen in this challenge .. but i havent seen them all yet .. !! ..
loving the black and white edit and that wonderful sky .. it looks threatening .. which is quite appropriate considering your subject ..
the boat looks abandoned .. certainly looks like its not going anywhere in the water anytime soon ..
actually like your crop too .. going out of the frame .. like there's hope for this poor vessel yet .. :)
