At work and on the phone.
This place has a barn that I'm restoring.

in contrast to the other shot, this house ascends over the horizon, separating it from its surroundings.

except that it's drowning.

Another beauty but this is child's play for you. A gorgeous scene rendered perfectly.

You can jump into water through the window and they use the ladder to get back? ;)
It should be nice when finished. The image is nicely balanced.

Another wonderful image. The composition is artful, the subject scenic and the overall detail impressive. The distribution of light and dark and the tones are terrific. Can't imagine this scene presented any better than this.

Thinking of Jean Giono - only that he was in Provence - still...

Thank you for naming the places

This is excellent, John. Great contrasting tones across a well-balanced monochrome palette. What are you using for the B/W conversion of the phone's original? Love this!

I would love to see this in color, the b/w gives it very sinister feeling.

i'm a real sucker for reflections ..
as i write that i think of life .. and whats reflected back to us .. but thats a bit deep for this comment ..
and of course i'm a great lover of black and white .. done well .. and you seem to score goals every time you create a black and white image ..
we have the same phone btw .. and i was more impressed than you can imagine the other day .. when i shot the robberfly .. close-up .. if you had the S8+ before the S9+ then you'd know how much of an improvement the close-up image is on the S9+ ..
someone said on the comment .. not many would have a reason to have a dedicated camera .. think it was Henry .. and so true .. but there is so much you can do with dslr or mirrorless that the phone cant .. but its happening ..
so .. re your image .. like i've said before .. your work takes you to very interesting places .. especially for a photographer ... i think a photographer might see and feel a lot more in an environment than if you were just walking past .. like a merging ..
you're images .. to me .. often have a slightly disturbing quality .. there's a darkness .. a suggestion of something going on outside the frame .. that could be a bit scarey ..
i could be projecting . !! .. lol .. but i do like that atmosphere .. a lot .. :)

Gorgeous! I love the extreme contrast and the reflection. Terrific composition and beautiful old building.
