I play chess. The banana plays a better game than I do.
you're shooting the board from the side, the observer's perspective, not the participant's perspective.
The banana's move could not be duplicated by a chess piece. A rook and a queen could do it in two moves. A knight would need three moves. A king would need five. The pawn and the bishop couldn't do it at all. |

Wanna play chess? I see you brought your lunch. I like the textures. A well worn playground/battlefield. |

Just by angling the chessboard you've given it dynamism. The setting, and its long, open history, are appealing. Most of all I like the varying red and black hues of the board. And if you haven't a gauntlet, a banana will do. |

so this is pretty much a candid of a chess board and a banana .. !!..
dont know why this is so appealing .. but it is ..
the lighting is great .. and the combination of 'elements' is actually quite delightful .. as are the colours .. :) |

I simply love this image. I love the imprecise focus, as if you had the sun in your eyes and the guesswork behind it. The perfect image when one strolls aimlessly |

I imagine somone throwing down the gauntlet to the local champion, or an escaped chimp from the local zoo. Great find. |

The elements work very well together. As for the connotation.. |
