a two dimensional photograph of a two dimensional vine pretending to be a three dimensional tree

a wall pretending to be a sky

ground pretending to be ground

There are a lot of simple details in this image. Does that make it complex or compoundedly simple? In any case, there's so much to enjoy here -- the weathered shutters, the corrugated canopy, the grassy edging, the sign and the espaliered vine. The colors, especially on the wall, which appears to be blushing, are lovely. The vine seems to be walking, which brings rhythm into an otherwise motionless scene. I sort of want, subjectively, there to be fewer elements, but none of them here would be easy to part with.

In control, or so we believe. This is quirky, from the architecture to the trained vine. Not your usual subject or processing but still thought provoking. Converting to b&w would emphasize the shapes.

I love the muted colors in this image. The more I look at it, the more I like it and find myself wondering things like, what sort of building is this? I think that is a rosebush by the door, but what is the vine? Is it a grape... a wisteria... a truly ancient climbing rose? I'd love to see another shot of the same image when Spring has truly arrived.

A delicate watercolor like image with a very nice sharp sign exactly where needed to make the shot photographic in nature and not too sweet

All of the elements make this image very appealing, it all ties together quite nicely.

i dont know exactly why this is so appealing .. and that may be part of its appeal .. !! ..
but i reckon it would look wonderful as the cover of some book .. have no idea of the subject or the audience ..
loving the shadow of the vine btw .. :)

The subtle color palette is wonderfully puntucated by the deep rust of the awning above the door. The interplay of organic curving, snaking lines with the harsh angles of the architecture and the sign is what keeps me looking. Bravo!

What a wonderful find. The colors are sublime. And the textures make it look almost like a painting.

This looks like a fairy tale with the colors, I do like that tree!
