my theme .. taking photos and doing stuff to them .. more or less .. and maybe experimenting a bit ..

for the March side challenge

yesterday morning .. i had stopped and was having a chat with a friend .. he said .. look .. and there were three kangaroos very interested in us .. a fair way away on the other side of the fence .. of course i started taking photos .. and of course they decided to hop away ..
i was editing this for the into and out of the frame challenge having forgotten that it was minimal .. lol ..

when the penny dropped i did try the suggestion of GeneralE Paul's on the original jpeg .. of using the unsharp mask to boost the colours a bit .. but this was unsalvageable sooc ..
its only the subjects that make this ok .. and the addition of the painterly effect .. which compensated for a low quality grainy image .. using alien skin snap art filter ..

here is the original jpeg for digifotojo ..

This is likely something I will never see around my homeplace (no wild kangaroos in Colorado). It is fascinating and oh so beautiful! I love the light and the lush greens and I can absolutely imagine the kangaroos just deciding to exit when they see the humans with a camera.

H'm, kangaroos seems to be like cats. They also run away whenever you (at least me) want to make a photo. Great editing here!

Usually I don't go for painting filters, but this is so stylized, elegant and beautiful that I can enjoy it as if it were actually a painting. The lighting is lovely and the greens are a veritable bouquet. The rhythm and perspective are also terrific. Really liking this.

Great composition and beautiful Renoir light but the painterly processing isn't my favorite.

I agree with Mariuca, be perfect in a children’s book, I can imagine being fascinated by this as a kid.

Great capture Roz. You're definitely stepping outside your comfort zone, which is good. I like the lights and darks and the painterly effect but would have liked to see the original for the sake of comparison.

I find this as a perfect page in a children's book

I like the painterly look, the motion, and the light on the grass, contrasting with the kangaroos.
