Gotta hand it to you. And... I really don't want to believe the hand is not inside. The geometric shapes create conflict, the hand begs for help. Bravo!

The triangular window gable is quite interesting against the plane of the roof. The shingles in b & w are tonally beautiful; they are, in fact, my favorite part of the image, vibrant, wise and breathing. The extended hand is expressive, and just as the title says, yet it feels (don't know that it is) stiffly posed. I like the graininess. The clean window flashing, a more modern counter note, introduces a sense of tension.

I thought I saw... no it's just the sun hitting the glass. But the sun isn't out.

Beautiful slate roof. I image a village with matching roofs mined from the local quarry.

So far so good. Please continue.

At first I didn't know what to make of this but after reading your explanation below it makes more sense. Of course, without the hand it would be just another dormer window. Good show!

The hand makes this intriguing, but I like the old roof

I agree, hand looks weird, processing makes it look suitably cold.

Tile or slate roofs may also contribute to fire resistance (a sensitive issue for me right now) as well as looking rustic.

Windy but no rain, that’s just a reflection of my hand. These old style roof tiles break very easily and constantly need replacing, look lovely, cost a fortune but are pretty useless, in some places here you are forced to use them for aesthetical reasons.
