Taken and edited on iPhone.

First cropped using the standard iPhone photo editing function. Next taken into Snapseed to remove a knob on the window, and to tune the image light and detail. Then DistressedFX was used to add a bit of color and texture.

Because I didn’t like the texture on the daffodils, I took the adjusted image into snapseed and used “double exposure” to overlay the original image. That allowed me to use a mask to remove the texture from the daffodils.

Just reduced the size of my browser to 75% so I can see better on this rectangular screen. Now I see the background through the window, the trees and the cottage w/garden and it's a whole new image! It all comes together so nicely with the daffodils in front. I really like this and the mood it inspires!

What a crazy interesting photo. The patterns and the textures are out of this world.

Thanks for the tip, Roz. I’m going to look into Enlight. And “gloomy cold and almost forbidding” was exactly what I was going for with the DistressedFX edits.

The screen was actually part of the original image, and not a filter. The filter I used altered the light and color slightly. Thank you for the very specific critique.

At the top of the page in Snapseed, you will see a symbol with a square and a counter-clockwise arrow. After you have made some changes to the image, click on that symbol. You will have a list of options. Click on “View Edits”. You will see the layers there, and you can make changes to the layers, including using a paintbrush to create a mask.

this is wonderful Julianne .. its like the daffodils are a bright, warm and beautiful splash looking out into a gloomy cold and almost forbidding scene ..
i loved reading how you edited this .. in fact i put the pic of katee in taken on my phone and edited on my phone in snapseed and photoshop express because of seeing this .. i'm aiming to do more on my phone ... in the way of masking and adding textures .. i'm now going to go and see about distressed FX .. :)
