Well I've never been to France... I like the toning effect. The image suggests food fit for a king.

My first thought was "what a magnificent rooster!" I didn't even notice the rest of the establishment. I have a little different viewpoint since I do keep chickens (and a rooster) but we don't eat them. Their job is to eat bugs in the garden. You have done an amazing job with this image.

Such an imposing rooster. Kind of feel like he's telling people not to eat the meat there.

Not sure the omelets from this establishment would be easy to digest... oh wait, that's a rooster, isn't it? Nevermind.

Nice use of the window and archway to frame the subject!

I had the same horrific thought but surely those are rolls of receipt paper for the cash register.
to correct myself, it's probably for that little device just behind the rooster. If I recall Paris correctly, they have little credit card machines that they take right to your table to do the credit card transaction.

It's so good with the title. You're both celebrating good cuisine and also making fun of pretentiousness.

I love that rooster -- he rules the room!

This caught my attention the first time around.. such an elegant place to dine. I'm not sure what part the golden rooster plays in this.. maitre d or night watchman.. but he's quite a charming fellow. I love the decorative architecture of the room which you captured very well. It emits a very warm, glowing feeling. Wonder what the menu offers.. hmm.

OMG .. what a dramatic bird ..
almost to beautiful to think of that chicken as food .. !! ..
and what a gorgeous eatery .. i feel like i've stepped back in time ..
even the cash register .. if that's what it is on the lhs ..
i love all that old stuff .. that has been replaced by such clean lines and almost characterless .. (cant think of the word that comes after that ... replacements .. lol . but i've already said that .. )
anyway .. i used to have one of those old remington typwriters .. it was actually quite beautiful .. you know the ones with the keys sticking up on levers sorta .. i had it when i lived in england ... and when i came home i left it behind .. i regret that .. :)
