Clearly my editing skills are not yet up to par, Lydia, as that's not snow.... it's SUPPOSED to be "torn edges"....

Yup, that's the idea. Couldn't figure out how to make the edges transparent on DPC...

I think it might be more apparent that there are torn edges if you put a color or texture background in the negative space created behind the image where the paper tears lose the straight edges of the photo border. By the way... I like this treatment!
