December Beach Break

I shot this as I walked back through the holiday park to our cabin after my fall.
My camera had taken a good dose of sand and I extended the zoom fully and kept shooting every few seconds to keep it from retracting. I have a heap of shots of the ground, fence railings etc. But then, there were three kangaroos (and a rabbit!) grazing around the caravans and utility block.. I couldn't compose anything so this was strictly a point and shoot.

My husband did a great job of cleaning the sand from my camera and it still works.

I can't stop looking at those big back feet, lol. They are huge! Glad to hear that your husband was able to save the camera.

Minor setbacks often make us stronger. I once dumped my camera, lens first, into the foamy sand along the edge of the bay and it still works. Kangaroo's fur has a really nice texture.

It's a cliché, but sometimes good things come from accidents. With your random pictures you probably have more than a couple good ones that you would never have shot under ordinary circumstances. Kangaroos fascinate me and this shot lets me get up close and personal with one.

i like what you did with the detail - makes him/her look so plush!

the disadvantages of an extending zoom lens .. :(
and great that the camera is ok ..
anyway .. i'm loving your point of view here .. makes this a very impactful image .. also like your editing with the added structure .. and how it looks on the kangaroos fur .. i am so close up that i feel like i could reach out and pat him ..
a good thing has come out of something rather unpleasant .. actually so far a few good things .. as in the photos you have shared in our side challenge .. :)
