I saw someone else's comment about looking old and tired, even when they are not. I resemble that remark. A lot. There are days I look like this. A lot. Instead of old and tired, I see content and blissful. And this truly suits a square crop. |

oh wow, how did this Posthumous Blue get here? poor guy will have to feast on thorns.
I don't want to alarm you but your dog has tusks.
the fields of darkness and light, the thorns as a texture, it is a dazzling image, and certainly thrives in its square cage |

Another wow picture. The transition from background to forehead and trunk makes me wonder if this is an angel. It surely is an heavenly creature and you presented it the best possible way. And I agree with Ecce_Signum Love it! |

Such beautiful light washing over your subject. This simple monochrome treatment keeps my focus on the shapes, patterns and textures. Terrific addition to your Kruger collection. |

It almost looks like a ghost. So sad that the future looks grim. If elephants had lived in xxxx I wonder how many would still be there? |

They are one of my most admired animals. I know there is fierceness, but it is their tenderness that gets me. It distresses me that anyone could treat them poorly, for any reason. You are lucky to have them so close at hand.( These are WAY more interesting than a turkey...WAY WAY more.) |

Thst small thorny twig by the eye looks like a scar so adds do the already emotive image. This makes me sad.

Ombré shot. Well done, especially the shading into gray on the elephant's face. |

Eyes half closed, ruminating at the death of kings - (paraphrasing Shakespeare). |

They always look old and tired, even when they are not. I like the way this square is made up of triangles of light and dark. The shadow is supporting his head. |

You know, I agree that side challenges make more sense. I make more discoveries & have more fun. I enjoy your elephants for the way they seem to materialize out of the surrounding detail. I've never seen a live elephant, but from your photos I imagine that they must be very good at camouflage. Thanks. |

This photo is so distressing (I mean that in a good way!) coupled with the title and knowing how endangered/vulnerable elephants are in the world. If only we wouldn't take their being so lightly... I like the framing, with its head and tusks part-way out of the frame. |
