Bunt out blue light bulb inspiring the image. I used to think the bokeh images with specifically shaped lights originated from special strands of lights. This challenge pushed me to check out tutorials explaining that a dark paper or foil filter right in front of the lens with a shape cut out of the middle could transform round bokeh circles into illuminated instances in the shape of the hole. My wife used a crafting device to punch out the light bulb shape. Then it was a matter of fiddling with exposures and positioning.
